TEDxAMS2011 has come and gone. Jim Stolze and his (big) band of volunteers have pulled off a wonderful show. Amazingly all the talks are already online. So, the day after, I get to pick my favorites and share them here.

On the techside. Andrew Hessel had a story that really was scary & exciting at the same time. The age of bio-engineering. They are now already able to program DNA and plant it into a cell, to create artificial life. Now is the time to start thinking about what that means and what we can do with that. His idea: create custom viruses that act like a cold to cancer.
I wonder what kind of games we will be able to code into dna.
The suprise of the day, for me at least, was Joris Luyendijks talk about sharing your learning curve. Although I’m not sure its an entirely new concept. There are many blogs like this, for Example Lucas van Tol‘s series about starting to use Arduino. However his blog getting to know the finacial industry is obviously very in depth. A great read.
